Prices are coming down on storage...I keep thinking about the prices twentyfive years ago. I worked on a AN/UYK-15 (Unic 1616) computer that controlled our LORAN transmitter. It had four 8,000 bit core memories (thats only 8,000 bits, not bytes). The cost was over 8000 USD, a dollar a bit! I just bought a 8 Gig jump drive for around 50 USD. At 1980 prices that jump drive would have cost about 8,000,000,000 dollar .

Speaking of real estate I read in our classifieds Houses for sale in the US. Man, it's dirt cheap. Houses here cost as much as 1.5 million in TT dollars. The ad says houses are going for as little as US$ 40,000. (roughly TT$240,000). Hope it isn't located in a dump or next to a Nuclear Power Plant.

Woah! That's cheap for a Seagate. I just bought myself a nice 250GB Baracuda a couple of months ago. Real nice drives... though I think the Samsung Spinpoints are even a bit cheaper still!
