Hi guys. Still trying to get my TS to work properly. Not sure how many tweaks I have left to do, starting to get frustrating. A question I have that may pin things down tho, I shouldn't hear my voice coming over my speakers, should I?\

In Windows volume control (you need to enable the full mixer options) mute "mic" under the playback options , but keep "mic" checked in "recording".

Okay, that didn't do it. I think there is some conflict between the Windows sound controls and the software that controls my motherboard's sound controls. Unfortunately I can't uninstal the latter, so I may have to scrounge through my parts drawers and see if there is a decent sound cart that I can install.

Worth checking the input you've selected in TS : "Wave or Direct"

You may find more options there under "Direct Sound".
e.g. "Primary Sound Capture" and "AC90 sound card" for input device

and "Primary Sound driver" and "AC90 sound card" for output device

If so try primary input and Sound card output.

(At least I found that the best set up for the SB Live)

Rgr that. I made some headway today. I got my volume set to where Gen and Rab were able to hear me, but I was coming through muffled. Will test your suggestions. Thanks Sneak!

Okay what out the Codec settings? TS seems to default to this CELP 5.1.

Isn't the codec set by the server? should be a selection of codecs in the "test your settings " window.

Codec is set by server. Different channels have different codecs dependant on what the channel is used for..

Default = low
Gone fishing = low

red, green blue are higher

Made sense at the time it was set up :)

Think I finally got most of my TS comm problems smoothed out, gents. All it took was the disabling of the high end on board shiite sound and the installation of a crusty old low end sound card and a bit of tweaking. Tested it with Sir Rab this morning. :o
