Bloody hell - I have a LOT to learn!!

Many thanks to Mikester and Gadje.
They very patiently demonstrated how dogfights manoevers work in a session of torture for Greeny.
If ever I realised that I know nothing about a subject, I certainly do now!
On a serious point, I really appreciate the help guys - I have spend ages reading about keeping momentum and "the advantage", but it was all conceptual. I now have an inkling of what that means, albeit it wasa bit daunting seeing how you guys maintain spatial awareness.
Your patience was really appreciated.
Considering that I was told that you are two of the weakest pilots in FI that was cool

See you over the next few nights!
Thanks again
Greeny

Well, ... and I´ve always thought that I´d be one of the weakest, ugliest and smallest FI pilots ...

I´m glad you enjoyed the show, Greeny. I´ve to admit that I still have to learn in some aspects of this sim, too. And this after almost six years of flying it ...

I think someone was pulling your leg when they said Gadje and Mikester were our weakest pilots - they are probably two of the best in our squadron, although there are a few more who will give them a good match!
Not me by the way - I tend to fly ground attack, we are not all cut out for the glamour world of fighters

				NP Greeny.
It was surprisingly difficult trying to do mock-dogfights with Mikester to show you what we were talking about. Playing the victim by doing the normal DF pilots mistakes was tough, my head kept telling me too stop!(flat-turning, climbing after an opponent without enough energy, not seeing overshoots, etc)
Guess that is a good thing though;)
Open too anyone else who would like to join.

I remember quite a few manouvers Gadje and Mikester taught me, its amazing how a few simple little pointers can make a big difference in the lobby.
The one manouver I remember best was rather than do the head on or bank left or right trying to get on the tail was the high or low yoyo. I know you know it through Joint-Ops but they don't teach it in its practical application like those guys do in real combat scenarios! nor do you get the chance to practice it repeatedly into you perfect it.
I remember when I was struggling with the Basic Flight School at Joint-Ops also, the same folks helped me with my landings and basic things - without it I would of failed lol
Milk em for what they're worth, not many good pilots who are to willing to share they're knowledge
