Mexican Irishmen?

Post by AltarBoy » Sun Feb 25, 2007 6:01 am

Hey, guys I was watching a cable movie, however I didn't see the beginning. But the movie was based on a group of Irishmen who 'deserted' the US Army during the Mexican-American War and fought alongside the Mexicans. Some guy named John Reily and most of them were executed by the Americans. I Googled the subject and came up with the facts. During St. Patrick's Day both Ireland and Mexico pay homage to these soldiers. I find the subject fascinating.

Don't know if this'll work linky wise. Interesting little sight. Seems we do have some influence around the place. Diaspora wise. What.

Toodles.
