Confirmed, Andrew!

No go for the Chaikas from Genova AF in a COOP. Either in both directions (west to east and vice versa). Engines don“t start ...
Weird stuff!

Was it Lunchtime ?
Memories of LONG lunches in Italy.
Remember the Chiakas and Ratas need ground crew to start the prop
I recall Rules trying to do a pilot recovery, landing on thre road, switching off the engine and it wouldn't restart. No ground crew to spin the prop.
Ignore me I'm being silly

Maybe it is some kind of magnetic interference, like with German torpedoes in Norway or Bermuda Triangle stuff?
Or the Italians do not like some russian planes.....
or maybe Falon's wife's relatives from Sicilly have something to do with that

Yeah, Russian planes are el cheapo!

Just done a mission south of Palermo. There's a nice ridge to place coastal artillery and an airbase near the coast where the ships can shell. Nice pyros I must say.

Not so , it seems they forgot to model groundcrews at this field. First thing I checked over was "Off base take-offs", then put in the Test Runway and all OK.
