After much fooling around, I've come to the conclusion that the best resolution for my rig to run Il2 at is 1024X768 (refresh @ 85). This is one of the native resolutions for my Viewsonic VA902b monitor. However I think my normal desktop looks much better at the monitor's main native resolution of 1280X1024 (refresh @72).
I need to have vsync enabled in order to avoid tearing while using my TrackIr.
When the game starts it resets the screen res to 1024x768 but seems to also set the default refresh rate to 60, which of course limits my FPS rate. Is there a way to get Il2 to use the maximum (85) refresh rate for that resolution?

I would highly recommend Powerstrip as well.
Murph you might be able to inrease your refresh rate above 85. My old Viewsonic got up to 117 @ 1024x768 which helps with vsync framerates.
Powerstrip goes to this when I start the il2 exe. and returns to 100 at desktop. I also get it to overclock the GPU at the same time.
One final thing it has (which cured stutters for me) is that it allows you to change your cards latency. The default, over 200 was too high causing stutter I reduced it to 64 and all was well.
I liked it so much I even paid for the registered version

G with TFT monitors refresh rate is standard 60-75 not much you can do to change that. So uping the refresh rate is for CRT's.
Latency is about your card and does'nt matter which species of monitor you have.
So Powerstrip works for both but more affective with CRT's. But it will force resolutions for either.
