Guys, is there anyone using similar rig to mine -
AMD64 3000+
1GB DDR
GF 6800GT
?
I don't know why, but I got low fps in Il2...in cockpit it drops to 20.
What are your settings in the graphic card menu and in Il2 conf ini?

I have basically the identical rig. I use "6800" settings in IL2 setup, 2xQ AA, usually no anisotropic filter, although I'll sometimes set it to 2x.
My FPS is probably not a lot better than yours, but I thinks it stays above 20 most of the time.
If you PM me I'll send you a copy of my config.ini file.

Ok, got it solved.
Itwas the "Wait for vertical sync" option in card's settings. When I switched it off I am getting around 5-70 frames in QMB compared to 20-25 before I did that. I can run AA x4 and AAF x 2 with no prob with Water=1 now

I usually keep vertical sync enabled because I get image tearing while using my TrackIr otherwise.

Yeah, now I noticed that. But with the vertical sync I drop to 20s in frames per sec.....But will check it, if it is stable 25 fps or so (more less) than should be ok...

If the vertical sync seems to be causing the drop in FPS, then the real culprit is probably your monitor's refresh rate, since vertical sync is locked into the refresh rate.

I saw this thread over at Ubi forums:

I was happy with the fps I was getting with 4.07 but gave it a go. For my PC (P4 3Gb, 6600 and 1GB ram) It has made an improvement. I have lost an old problem of mine in cockpit view where the canopy would break up slightly while panning around and I have been able to up the graphics settings while retaining framerates.
Maybe worth a look-see if you need a boost?.
