Joystick

I just got a new saitekst290 joystick and it works great. It has throttle on it and I can not figure out how to make the throttle lever work on IL2. Can someone help me?
- main screen - Hardware Setup
menu - Input
input options setup- Hotas control
Controls:- under Hotas Control click mouse in key column next to power
move throttle up and it should indicate "U slider axis"
Apply
return to game and test
