Oleg: I think players should upgrade their PC after the release of Storm of War: The Battle of Britain, but not now. Minimum system would be probably like last year good system for IL-2 series.
No let up in the viryual arms race then.

Has there been any news as to the new game being DX10 forward compatible? I know a lot of the games will release DX10 patches once it releases.

Direct X 9c supports earlier versions of Direct X (IL2 etc is Direct X 8).

I assume that support will continue under Direct X 10

Actually maybe my question was unclear. :D

I was asking if the new release will be forward compatible, i.e. will they release a patch that will make the game take advantage of all the DX10 features for those with Vista and DX10 graphics cards. Of course DX10 is compatible with DX9 games, but I was thinking of this in a different way.

Some games coming out this fall will start as DX9 games and will release a patch that will turn on all the features and make them DX10 games.

It may be a moot point, since Il2 and presumably BoB are written to use OpenGL, and run much better in OGL than DX.

Doh! You are correct there. I completely forgot.
