Holy Carp!
One of my personal favorites. Allows you to hook up with your mates for some old school gaming. Makes a LAN of the intertron!

I use it for CM2BB and Alpha Centrauri. Pretty slick. You really want to password your channel though, really bad things could happen. I think there is limited file sharing also, but I'm not sure, not a power user.

But old school games like doom and netmech might work on it!

Hamaci is pretty simple. First you install it, then you join the Hamaci network and create a channel (create/join button). Good Idea to password it. Then it assigns an IP for everybody to connect to. That's it. And it works just like a LAN.
For instance :FightingIrish:
Password:FightingIrish
That's all there is to creating it.
To join is just as simple. Join/channel, type it in(:fightingIrish) and use the password. Works as an IM too I think.
Once it's up, everybody has a network address. I use it to bypass the firewall(s) when I'm playing with Spookyruben.
If you have trouble hooking up for a lan game using it,try tcp/ip protocol and use the IP address that Hamachi gives you.
Used it to get multiplayer going for Nexus, the Jupiter Incident recently. They had a gamespy like matching service that they brought down, making it almost impossible for people to play online. Pretty strange for a game less than a year old, and a good one at that.
Gah third time editing!

Hamaci gives other people access to your shared directories on your home network. That's how you can Peer to peer transfer. Just like on your home lan folks only over the internet.
Another reason to be very careful when you use it. But it is kind of incredibly powerful in that respect if you want to send large files to people you know, and don't know enough to set up an FTP server. Could be really useful for someone to access his files remotely anywhere.

Yes, Nexus the jupitor incident is quite good - never completed the solo campaign (last level was a bit hard) but had alot of fun online with it
