I deleted the folder several times and tried to reinstall still the same problem.
my frend gave me the old version when i turn it on it dosnt shutdown but does not work because it tells me to get the new version. i do not know what the problem is. i scanned with ad- aware and nortons

I run with windows firewall on and as long as IL-2FB is an allowed exception there is no problem running HL (same goes for McAfee)
___turn your Firewall back on___
Does HL just disconnect or close completely?
HL will disconnect you if you are inactive for about 10 mins. The HL window should remain open though.
What connection are you using?
Can you run Teamspeak?
You may want to run these to check your system and connection

AVOID a thing called "Winfixer" at all costs its nasty and invasive and full of spyware - best to ban it's URL

Sounds odd.
Maybe you got a problem with the downloaded file?
I don't think the HL download is that large so maybe try downloading again and see if that helps.
and use the windows uninstaller for the current version

If you just delete the folder there may still be a KEY in the dreaded Registry.
Should see "Uninstall Hyprlobby client" in Start/Programs menu
