Okay, now i have a serious problem...

I re-installed the windows yesterday...
And now the games wont work....
I´ve tried bf2 and il-2, but they just dont work.
I click the game´s icon on desktop, dvd-drive starts working, but nothing happens.
What am i missing here(?)

Q?
1). Are drive letters the same as previous? see 3).
2). Are you using Windows drivers for GPU?/ Sound card? If so install
manufacturers drivers...ATI/Nvidia etc..
3). Have you tried IL2.exe in IL2 folder (if this works delete shortcuts
and create new ones )
On my recent re-install of XP to new SATA I had to account for the
changes in drive letters, but FB and PF standalones still running
4). Is your Java up to date? Is it installed? v1.5.06 now Sun systems

My second drive used to be "G", and it´s "D".. But i dont think that´s causing any problems, because i´ve only used that second drive for a storage...
Are you using Windows drivers for GPU?/ Sound card? If so install
manufacturers drivers...ATI/Nvidia etc..
I used Ati´s all in wonder 5.7, 6.2 and 6.3 but none of them did the trick.. Of course i uninstalled the driver properly, before installing a new one...

Hmm... i guess not... What does that java do, anyway?
I just re-installed the windows (again)... I hope everything will work, this time...

I know this ins't much help, but I have ALWAYS had problems with stuff on a re-install of Windows over an old version.....
Might try to re-install FB if it doesn't work after your latest Windoze install. Save your skins folder, missions, config.ini and stuff like that and put it back into your newer FB folder.
Pain in the butt that it is, I had to do that last time I fooled with Windows. In fact I had to re-install several programs to get 'em to work.

Finally got il-2 working..... and it took only about 15 hours(!)
I´m sure gonna have fun time tomorrow, when i start upgrading basic il-2 to PF 4.04m and installing BF2/BF2 SF and patching it...
Ah, feck it.... I´m going to a bar now, and get myself totally wasted....

Uhh..... This must be the mother of all hang overs....
Anyway... Just finished installing BF2, and it works... So the situation is under controll now
