Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter

This game has just been released for Gates' evil Xbox 360. Soon to also be released for the PC (which will be much better I know guys

).
Anyway, besides the sick graphics folks are talking about, what excites me the most is the inclusion of an
online campaign. The original Battlefield series had this sort of thing, but would love FPS to move into this direction. Would certainly allow a small group of Rogues to enjoy an ongoing campaign together as well as other popular MP modes.
Personally never played any GR games. Probably will rent this one at least (not saying I will be purchasing it so don't read anything into this post

). Huge city environment (Mexico City). Looks awesome graphically! Hope other series provide for online campaigns.

Love the Clancy/Red Storm series, played them from the get go (Rainbow series) could definitley get into this. Play Ghost Recon at work with others over the LAN, great time (they have mac versions).
Ok, so Tactical has said he is a definite

. I would be a definite... others? Of course my system probably won't run it, but hey...I'm still in with a coop campaign.

Now see I didn't even know that YOU own an Xbox 360 Noter.

What? He means the PC version. I see.
Looks like another squad-based, tactical shooter for the modern era. City battlefield.

I'm fucked.
Again.

Again just admiring this game ONLY (despite Noter's troublemaking). That's not to say an online campaign for a FPS doesn't sound very interesting to me.
And yes Helo, I do think folks might have trouble with the video card requirements. I upgraded to a nVIDIA 6800 256MB last spring (gee it's almost been a year now

). Even so, I suspect with only 1GB of RAM I would need to tweak in order to accomodate the textures (like I had to in BF2).
Or I could just play it on the 360 with no problems.
Again my point was the excitement over an online campaign. Maybe other popular series like Call of Duty and Battlefield will move in this direction.

Well for my birthday I picked up this game - Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (Xbox 360). Keeping in mind I prefer strategy and sim games, and my experience with FPS is mostly the Call of Duty and Battlefield series, I must say - WOW!
Yes the graphics and sounds are gorgeous.

I really like the ballistics. Absolutely love the real tactical play. One really needs to take their time and sweep each sector. And one shot and you're dead. This really translates well online as complete strangers seem to instinctively know to group up and cover each other.
The controls are fantastic (Xbox 360). No jumping means no bunny hopping. Nice assortment of weapons. You can shoot when running (running is good but not fast), but like always ideal shooting is staying still and lying prone (not that you must do this of course). Snipering is real nice, including the ability to sniper enemies behind thin walls. The environment is not only nice looking, but one can shoot through objects like boxes and kill opponents.
Anyway those looking for a stellar, tactical game that rewards patience and stealthy gameplay check this one out (coming to the PC in April I think). What might interest some in the Platoon in the ONLINE CO-OP play, not to mention a bunch of other MP options.

Don't those guys look like the "Colonial Marines" From Aliens? Right down to the kneepads!
Loved Raven Shield. Stay away from Rainbow Six: Lockdown.
The Squaddies on Xbox live should hook up sometime.
"Only 1 gig of RAM" Lol. Just look at ourselves! Then again, the price to upgrade to cutting edge technology is only about as expensive as going to the movies twenty times out of the year.......or renting videos. Or paying for TV cable (Which, I may add, I can and have lived without). Or fixing a bent 'bonnie. This is one that I'm gonna check out.
Don't think we'll be hearing much from Tac or Falcon after the 20'th though.

I was going to take a pic or two last night Dex, but apparently my daughter killed the batteries in our digital camera. Hopefully I can post some shots soon.
Until then here are some screenshots (poor quality) I found quickly surfing the net. IGN has some decent coverage and better screenshots.
