Gardaí have been dealing with drunk and disorderly behaviour after the St Patrick's Day festivities.
Gardaí from Store Street in Dublin said they arrested 70 people yesterday and that this was much higher than normal. Most were for minor offences.
In total more than 100 people were arrested on public order offences yesterday in Dublin city centre.
There were several violent incidents on the DART yesterday including an assault, vandalism and fighting.
Two trains had to be taken out of service after windows were smashed.
Gardaí and the ambulance service were also called to break up a fight between around 25 people on an evening train.
In Cork, gardaí from the Bridewell made up to 40 arrests arising from drunk and disorderly behaviour.
And in Limerick city, 52 people were arrested overall with seven taken into custody after a fight broke out at a bar in the city centre.
22 people were arrested for public order offences in Waterford city in relation to the St Patrick's Day celebrations, while four arrests were made in Tramore in the county.
-Does this mean the Gardaí were in favour of minor offences??Gardaí from Store Street in Dublin said they arrested 70 people yesterday and that this was much higher than normal. Most were for minor offences.
