in Cresson, TX.

Got some VERY disheartening news. Seems the neighboring town and the USAF have conspired to remove the planes that were loaned to the musem. The F-4 Phantom is leaving this weekend. I suspect the C-119 and that old amphib will be a LOT bigger headache to relocate.

I've volunteered my services on the weekends to help maintain what's left. We have some painting to do on the lil minesweeper and some tracked stuff. I'll be getting some MUCH better pics in the near future. ;)

Here's what was taken today. My in-laws are here visiting so I took a few days off from work. I got COOL in-laws. :D

Hope the pics don't load too slow.

Well, if I think of my 17 years old VW bus and I feel with you, Willie ... 17 years are nothing in comparison to what exhibits the museum has to offer ... but I suppose it´s not only to be done with a blots of paint on this and there ... sooner or later the question of financing this institution will arise so you folks will be in more trouble than asking yourself when and how to paint a minesweeper ... :(

Anyway, ... good luck, m8! :D

This museum has a huge trust fund. It appears to me that those in charge haven't been responsible about designating funds. The guy that works there during the day didn't impress me at all. I plan to nose around and find out who and what and maybe see if I can get a foot in the door. ;)

I'd much rather fool around with antique cars and planes and junk than what I'm doing for financial enlightenment at the moment. :D

It is a damn shame they've made the decision to reposess the planes already. Several have gone away since I was by there a few months back.

Didn't even know the place existed until now.

Thanks for including the "Flying Banana" in the mix. Doesn't look as if anyone's really cared for it. Re-building the main rotor blades is gonna be a SERIOUS project for anyone interested.

Love to see ya replace the guy who works days there.

Thanks!
