Seriously though Niel , I feel for you; having come to a sticky end more than enough in bombers . It's not always good to follow the mission waypoints, or take the direct route (unless it's very close and you can get in and out before any action develops).

It seems that not enough people want to fly bombers to make up a good defensive formation - Skipper, NightCat, where are you? (the AI seem next to useless in this respect - untill you're attacking in a fighter)

okay, OKAY, OKAY!!!

I get the point!!!

NOT to leave the bombers until at least one or two juicy slow-movin', level-flyin', point-laden targets come into view ...

right?

>hic!<

~~~
I always try to cover the bombers, but first I try to protect my wingman and he went after the wee dots in the distance, uh, after I pointed them out.
I had lost the Pe-2's and well ... the enemy planes were so shiney and twinkly and colorful.
At about the time I heard Neil's unmistakable bellow for help I got a really bad scratch on the paint job of my La-5 and had to run home and get it touched up. You never know WHO you'll run into, y'know.
Sorry bombers, I thought there was an extra flight of fighters with you and another group already cap'n the target area.
I'll try harder next time.
If they're slow-moving targets, perhaps they're two european swallows carrying a coconut?
