Well, would you be so kind as to volunteer please sir?
If OK, I'll email the missions (3 done, but we may only have time for 2) later this afternoon.
Armitage - weather for all 3 is set to poor which makes carrier ops on a rolling deck very tricky!

Off you go, Neil. I´d really like to host them ...

What version will we be running?

:FI:Nellip wrote:They will be based on a non-historical scenario of USMC forces supporting landings on a small group of islands, and IJA/IJN forces attempting to resist the landings. The missions will be written in 4.08 with no mods so anyone struggling with the modded files at the moment should be able to join. If the new official 4.09 version gets issued in the next few days then I might switch it to that.
USMC will fly from escort carriers, IJA/IJN from land and from carriers. I will use a 1943/44 plane set.
Action will be set on the fictional Oii Yuu islands - located just off the coast of Kent

It´ll be 4.08 vanilla/modded ... I think ...

Missions are in 4.08 no mods.
Frank - sent you the missions a little while ago, I know you have had problems with the format of the files in the past, so if I need to resend let me know.

Problem is there are some AI aircraft in the missions that are AI only in 4.08. I'm not sure, but if I run the mission in 4.09 I think they may become selectable on the mission screen. As long as no-one selects them (as they are airstart with no mission brief) then I guess we are OK, but I know some people have struggled to fly with modded version of the game and my aim was to write some in 4.08 that hopefully everyone could fly. I don't have a problem if we want to discuss on comms later.
Kev - is there not a 4.08 version with 6dof you can select - seem to remember seeing that on the
version selector?

Sorry for skipping the second mission ... I´m still a hopeless dreamer still betting on new ATI GFX drivers working on OpenGL without any troubles ... rolled back again to the 9.7 driver ... I won´t change it anymore ... GOSH ... it was sooo pathetic ...
Sorry, folks!
Anyhow, ... very good missions, Neil. Already looking forward to next Sunday, m8!

It's good to be back in the Pacific and tossing the dice on a tossing deck. The design of the second mission, the only one I flew, was great. Neil, first-class work.
Thank dawg for ATI. Gen's crashing 'puter prevented me from crashing onto the poor carrier.

You do too much tossing mate.
Great missions thanks Neil- shame Franks dodgy new graphics card gave up in the last one, I think it probably worked out for the best though- Im none too hot on those carrier landings either !!.

That assumes you would have survived until the landing mate
Thanks for the kind words guys - makes the time spent worthwhile.
Maybe we should refly mission 2 next week - and I'll alter the ground targets a bit so Stu can see them!

Yeah, nice missions, although the flak was apparently a nightmare in mission 1 (I stayed out of it lol).
Looking forwards to flying more, even if the AI shot me down while I was talking ver the radio:
"Guys.... is that one of you flying at me?"
*Bang*
