Yeah, since I patched up to 1.1 most of the bugs went away, but not all. However, it does not lessen the enjoyability of this game. It's immersion and details are so good that you really don't notice it. In fact last might I was gonna play for an hour and I got so carried away it lasted 4 hours and went to bed at 3am!

Try Star Trek Legacy, then check the forums there. There is an official complaint thread. MTW2 would really have to suck to compared to that turkey.
I think it's the "OMFG THE FRENCH PAULDRONS ARE .025 DEGREES OFF AND THE SHEEN OF THE STEEL ISN'T CORRECT FOR THE METALLURGY OF THE TIME!!!!111 THIS GAME SUXXORS111!!!" guys.
And the people who pirated the game, who don't have a manual, and can't patch.
People whose intelligence is on such a scale that it is amazing they don't use their computer to store ice cream, let alone post, may be reviewing it too. All said everything is contextual.
RTW was too good, this game is not a turkey. Spooky won't shut up about it. He says it's one of the most amazing looking, solid coded games he has ever played, and that is saying alot. And it runs fast and beautiful with his mid-range (now) hardware.
I'd get it.

OMG!
The metallurgy sheen is not right in "Legacy"?!?
Gah!
Legacy is the OTHER game I'm going to get ... maybe ... when I get some extra time.
Looks like I'm gonna wait for MTW V5.27349374652 and Star Trek: Legacy V7.37462768338263 to be ABSOLUTELY sure!!!
Falcon V 1.0
yeah, I'm bugged

I don't get it. I attacked and defeated a Rebel garrison and at the same time made a trade agreement with Frogland, erm, I mean France. Then the Frenchies attacked me and the Pope said nothing. But when I counter-attacked I get Papal warnings. Not fair in my book. Ah, who cares? I'm gonna convert to Hinduism! But whatever you do- DO NOT TRUST THE FRENCH!

Alright lads I picked this game up last night. Didn't want to play it too long, just get it installed, patched and tweaked. You know kick the tires before bed. Well 7 hours later I decided that it was a decent game. Now getting ready for another "little" session tonight.
As far as performance very surprised really. Just using auto-detect settings, which selects Normal for the troop size but everything else is maxed for Shader 2 (including shadows, bloom and reflections on) and it has been smooth. No huge battles yet so I may need to tweak later but so far its been rock solid with no issues whatsoever!
Graphically this is a gem. The atmosphere is fantastic! The weather effects, terrain, and troops are fantastic. Just playing on Medium with England as my first small campaign. AI seems fine so far though not too tough. Of course I am just starting my conquest of Europe (France) so things will likely get a bit tougher. Loved the Scots btw. Can anyone say "Braveheart"?
Anyway why didn't YOU GUYS tell me how good this game was?
