Does anybody know the real reason why certain countries do it mm/dd/yyyy rather than dd/mm/yyyy.

I suppose there is some weird historical reason, but I am curious to know why.

- RAF markings yes

- FIS markings yes

- serial number, (I have your b-day if you've given it previously, otherwise, include birthday) yes

- no nose art (unless you want me to duplicate old custom designs) Spitsfish? :)

- harp on tail of FIS design? yes

- FIS insignia on RAF version? yes

- fuselage name "ROYAL NAVY" on RAF

- other national roundels and markings? nope
:)

harp,

"Sheila the 'Get out and push' Sheep"

Red lettering also available, (it looks better when not in .jpg format)

shading and wear issues,

etc.

Which brings us neatly on to the question...

Q - Why do Scotsmen wear kilts?
A - The sheep had learned to recognise the sound of a zipper :)

The old ones are the best ones :)

I have no idea,

but when someone walks up to me and asks,

"When is your birthday?"

I answer,

"May twenty-fifth, 1956."

So I was comfortable when I learned the colonial way to do it on paper...

May 25th, 1956 ...

05/25/56.

I understand that the US military uses DD/MM/YY,

but they ALWAYS want to sound different.

;)

ANYWAY

if you want your serial number all scrambled up and 'Europeeny'

on my designs,

then ...

stop shooting me down!!!

gah!

](*,)

but I understand that many cultures are quite different from others

I hear that some supposedly advanced societies ...

drive on the LEFT side of the road.

Imagine that?!

Now I have the smartest (and sexiest) Spit in the group! (At least, until you put a carp on the tail of Tactical's  )
Excellent work!

But don't worry about paint chips. I expect I'l have my mechanic touch it up every time I finish a sortie.

Well gurb,

in the Netherlands we use

dd-mm-jjjj i think that's a logical order days months years.

or it should be jjjj-mm-dd

just like time but with time it is hours - minutes - sec's

but not mm-dd-jjjj

does not make sence to me

but never mind i am Dutch ( thats close to belgium)

And spitsfire the so called

- other national roundels W T H is that ??

These are the Dutch's 'FIS type 4' Roundrels
as Sir Falcon said. !!

Gah
