Not to worry only a couple of drops were necessary, and that will tend to mix with the remnants of "sticky" grease around the spindle.

What I hate is that Thermal Compound for the heatsink fan. Man, that thing is messy to apply and you have to use a real thin layer for proper heat distribution.
