Thanks for the feedback Macca!

So . . .

Want an Xbox 360 hockey game, Medieval 2, this game, that other game Macca mentioned, and also the IL-2 addons to enhance Historic Encounters. Now when do I get the time to actually play all of them I wonder? :-k Wait according to my calendar I'm not busy from 11:00 pm until 6:30 am. :D

There are both SP and MP demos of Faces of War avaliable. Try them, the MP is soooo intensive.

Machine guns akakakakaing, cannons making biiig explosions, fountains of soil shoot into the sky, bodies fly...trees fell down under tracks of tanks, soldiers in trenches hide when you wanna drive a tank to make them more flat... This 1C game is fantastic.

CoH too.

And there are two more games like that - Soldiers- Heroes of WW2 and Outfront (aka Silent Heroes: Elite Troops of WWII)

Actually, Ican get FoW together with Outfront for 10 bucks or so ( our Polish publisher has started a promotion:)

Looovely:)

Later on I'll play a bit of this and a bit of that and take somescreeeenies.

No I gotta hit the local store and supply ma company...ergh..family with bread and other , cruicial stuff, like ammo for our .303 cals, and so on.

Right now it is a toss up between COH and FoW for me. I hear the FOW interface sucks big time and the game has a little less overall ease of play. I guess once the reviews hit it will make some sense to see which one to buy as they both hit shelves this month.

there is a very cool thing in FoW - you can search bodies of enemies and your soldiers, vehicles, take their weapons, first aid kits, and so on. Also you can manualt control given soldier's fire - for example - you sneak with your trusty Thompson behind a tree, a grou of Germans is stanfding near a house, looks like they are chatting:). You turn on manual targetting and spray at them - moment and 3 Jerries are dead:) You have somethi9ng like a little laser sight and you aim yourself, it is not too easy cos the sight is floating. Cool feature. Sniper rifle - one shot and he's dead:)

Great game.

Thawk, this option is not obligatory, you can order your soldiers just to attack a given target and voila, they'll engage it.

It is hard to decide which game is better -of course in my case - CoH is somehow more strategic, while i like FoW physics more, nice rocochets from armor, pickable weapons-even MP40 can be used instead of your thompson:)

Both games are really interesting and involving, in both there is a messsss and massacre. I find Faces of War graphics much more eye candy though.

Here are some of screenshots form CoH Pre-release Beta single player - medium graphic settings- runs like a charm

and there is still 1C's and Battlefront's Theatre of War , which is (for me) waay above these two, Medieval 2, and other games which are to be released soon.

And ToW is to be REALISTIC as possible for a PC game - no health bars here:)

Yes , you're right, this game uses enhanced il-2 engine.

Coh vs FoW discussion at UBIBoards

armor penetration system in FoW - http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/ ... 6651082874" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have to agree, FoW is more realistic, I just loved when enemy shells ricocheted from my Pzkpfw V front armor:)

but from the side it got me good.

this looks marvellous..http://www.worldinconflict.com/main/overview.html#" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Might be that FoW is more realistic. But I like CoH more actually..:) Feels more tactical for some reason... :-k
And Macca, shells bounces of the armor platings in CoH as well, and not only that... If you fire a shell at the armor skirts on a tank, they can fall off... I tried out FoW yesterday, and it's a great game.. but not my cup of tea, so I can't say much about the game... But CoH... wohoo! the details, the graphics, the tactical aspect... just lovely! \:D/

Indeed, but I don't get why must I hit Pzkpfw IV a few times in its rear armor from 1 meter to destroy it)

Yeah, both are cool and both look damn nice:)

I can't choose...damn...

The problem is that both games have something different to offer - CoH - it keeps all the nice features of classic RTSs like Dune - resources, building units, etc.

FoW has this "something" I really love about it but can't define.

And MP modes are in both games very promising.

Shall I throw a dice?:)

It is a tough decision indeed. Seems like the reviews coming in for CoH are in the mid 90%'s so it cannot be all that bad. I usually do not trust reviews that much, but when they are that high, there must at least be something about it that is worth checking out.

FoW I have not seen reviews on yet, but I think it is due out one week after CoH so we should see some soon.

I think I've seen FoW rating at 90% or so, slightly below CoH.

time will show...

that both are good:)
