I guess the bottom line is that there are so many choices for components in a PC that bugs are going to be inevitable; whereas with a console you get the standard unit and OS.
Must confess to having used Music 2000 on PS1 and found it a really good tool for coming up with arrangements and ideas for tracks. Quick to work with too.
