Firstly, great to be back...............just wish it was on more than the forum!
I have my new PC, but it has come with Vista and when I try to load IL2, or any other CD, I can't use the autorun function which is required for Ace Exapansion Pack to find IL2.
I've been on all the Vista forums and checked out the settings, but no luck.
Registry seems to be fine and autorun settings are good too.
I found one forum that had a link to a flight sim site with the answer, but the link is down.
Has anyone come across this issue?
I've loaded Pacific Fighters, but obviously it's missing IL2 and expansion pack.
I've still to buy IL2 1946. Will this get around my issues or am I headed for more pain?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Hope to see you all soon.
Cheers,
Brian

From what I hear you should install to other than "C:Program Files/".
Seems the contents of that folder are read only in Vista, amongst other things.
Also if you have Il2 installed on your old rig (if you still have it) , you could burn it to CD and copy / paste onto the new one (but not to C:Program Files)

Think I've still to find that problem...
I found another site though with a rough guide to the registry entry.
Saved a copy, gave it a try and it worked!!
Just installing PF again now.
Hopefully wont have any issues with 1946.
Thanks for your help.
Cheers,
Brian
