The panel lines and rivets on that skin are really excellent and the splint camo looks fantastic!
One thing I noticed is that many of the skins I have seen for this theatre have really blue greys for the axis aircraft.
There are many examples over at Italian skin guru Abraxa's skin page: Abraxa's Skins
I'm not sure if all axis squadrons adopted these paint colours or maybe it was rare.
Whether you change the grey or not I'd be happy to fly in it or at it.

Right gents,
The desert scheme for the Spits changed over in and around May 30th 1943 from the desert Mid Stone/Dark Earth / Azure underside to the Dayfighter Dark Green/Mid Sea Grey/Azure after the Malta campaigns.
It was pointed out (correctaly) that the Desert scheme was great over North Africa it was crap over the Sea and Italy/Sicily
MkVc's looked a bit like these
Owt else you need to know from some-one who sounds like a 'Fern'??
If so give me a shout on SimHQ/Flying Legends or over on EAF

Hey, thanks Kristorf!
That's some good information about the Spitfires, now how about ...
ak ... is he gone?
Guess I'll need to ride on over to Flyin' Legends to get more info.
...
Who was that masked man anyway?

Yes Kristorf,
If you check the beginning of this thread, you will see the ac list for our upcoming Italian campaign. In our last African campaign all participating members had their own custom/personalized skins of the ac they flew. Our objective was to have historic skins with just a touch of Fightin' Irish in them.
We're doing so well in Africa that it may be late '43 when we get to Italy though.
Check this thread and the HE forum on this site and you will get an idea of what we fly.
Oh, btw, you are certainly invited to join our HE sessions each Friday. If that's too late for you we have Sunday co-ops Sunday afternoon/evening.
We will need the Spitfire Vb (or Vc cuz it's easier to skin), the VIII and the IXc.
Thanks again,
Falcon

I KNEW it was a mistake to invite a better skinner here!

Okay HE pilots, is this close to what you want?
WIP: still some weathering, lighting fixes, 3d, etc to do.
