AB's first flight with the FI

Post by AltarBoy » Mon Feb 12, 2007 12:23 am

Well, I finally manage to get online with you dudes. A bit of an anti-climax seeing my ping was too high (someone tell me how to fix this) and the time outs. And then some dude vulched me whilst on deck (that peeves me!) But did take off pretty ok on the first go. Second go I ended up in the drink and had to swim home. But it was fun while it lasted. Had a good laugh when one Corsair took off skidding on his tail and then took off at warp 9. Looking forward to the next one. 8)

You weren't vulched!

It's just our way of tellin' everybody that we're startin' over.

Get online during the week and check and test your settings. Set up TS and be READY for next week.

Good to know you reallly exist ... sorta.

Hmmm..checked the site Sneaky and the test in Europe showed pings at over 1000 mps and in North America around 400mps.

Closest (non-US) server to your part of the world, I get

compared to

and local

Is your ISP Cable, Satellite or Wireless

are you using a wireless modem?

(Hope your not still using talking drums there)

Try hooking up midweek on HL

You could try a local ping test to your own IP.

go to Start/Run and type in command

type in the dos box "ping 'your IP' "
ping 12.345.67.89

and see what time that returns

.or try

C:\>tracert http://www.google.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

OK so you won't be able to fix it, but it might high light where the problem is....and you could move house accordingly ;)
