Humour in Uniform part 1

Post by AltarBoy » Thu Jul 27, 2006 1:23 pm

This is the first part in a series of jokes and other funny situations from the military. Post as many as you can get.

During the Battle of The Atlantic in WW2 a British convoy was sailing to Russia. The convoy was protected by a camship carrying a Hurricane called by many a 'Hurricat' that was launched by catapult. One hazy morning spotters detected a lone Focke Wulf 200 Convoy Raider coming in low. With razor-sharp efficiency the crew prepped the fighter for take off and sent the hurricane away in under 2 minutes. Beaming with pride at their speed the crew congratulated themselves. A surly man came up behind and joined in the celebration. "Don't mind me chaps, I'm only the pilot for that bloody Hurricane you just sent off!"

This one really happened:

One day I was flying Il2 offline and was level at 12,000 ft. I looked right and saw a black speck far away. Ah, an enemy aircraft I said to myself. So banking I went in pursuit. 30 mins passed then another 15 mins went by and that black speck was still far away. Can't be an Me-262, it's bloody 1941! Finally in fustration I gave up. But looking closely at my screen I wiped it and lo and behold that black speck was gone!

....and the moral of this story is...clean your bloody computer screen!

So its official! the USA had X-wings in WW2! I've seen it with my own eyes!

Dear Oleg,

When will we get X-wings in IL-2?

Will we get clipped wing versions also? and R2D2 nav systems? and a choice of laser colours? also can we get those Y-wings is it? - anyway they're kinda neat too ... oh and a Death Star.

PS.

Oleg, you never answered my e-mail about the IL-2 Battle for Middle Earth expansion pack.

I claim the parachute flying is undermodelled, one can't even cut off the chute from the pilot.....

...the U-2 would still be overmodelled.

Even Darth Farter wouldn't do him any harm.
