World Championship 2006
CAMAAAAAAAAAAAAANN
Cant wait for this to start now..
I have drawn Iran in our family's betting ring, £10 a feckin pop as well. Suppose there's always that prize for last place as well. Mind you Togo are looking on for that..
What are your bets for the winner? Can never count out Brazil and Germany though judging by the hype here you'd think Engerland had won it already..

For those who missed the opening ceremony!
Germermany has got a bit weird lately, what with country music at the eurovision contest, then the above... it leaves me lost for words but it does answer a few questions about Genosse.
Englands invasion on Frankfurt off to a start, already they're in trouble for nazi salutes, having swastikas and generally thinking they're funny - apparently its only funny if Monty Python does it?
The word "swastika" comes from the Sanskrit svastika - "su" meaning "good," "asti" meaning "to be," and "ka" as a suffix.
Until the Nazis used this symbol, the swastika was used by many cultures throughout the past 3,000 years to represent life, sun, power, strength, and good luck.
Perhaps its just a misunderstanding and everybody will laugh about it afterwards

Hey, this has nothing to do with me ... I did not/do not/will not belong to any of these livery wearing conservative groups. Thank God that I missed the FIFA opening festivities ...:FI:Nightcat wrote:

Despite its origin and its original meaning the swastika is forbidden to use and display in any way because it belongs to an anti-constitutional organisation (to the former Nazi party NSDAP and following modern organisations). Anyone who´ll be convictited for it can get into prison for up to five years. So the English supporters will be wisely advised not to use the swastika nor the nazi salute ... this is a big NO-NO in Germermany ...
Anyhow, I like to see a soccer tournament with great matches and no riots ... may the better team win! And admittedly it won´t be Germany ...

Talk about unwanted symbols ...
I hear that European soccer has a new major sponsor.
