Where can i find all the patches for this game?
S!
My windows is soooooo slooooow nowadays, that i figured i´ve gotta re-install it...
So, any of you guys wouldn´t happen to have all the patches i need for il-2/PF, or do you know some place where i could get them?
Ps.
How do i re-install the darn thing, anyway?
Just "format C:", and insert the windows disc into cd-drive?
Edit:
I did find some PF-patches, but i guess i´ll be needing il-2 patches as well?

Good finding, Bauer!
Sorry, Sapper! But I´m a lazy bugger so I didn´t like to do a research on this topic ...
The last time I installed IL-2/FB/AEP/PF merged I had some troubles with the FB package. The wrong language of the installation script made a installation of it impossible for me ...
My resource for the patched was this site:
http://www.pacific-fighters.com/en/updates.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
There ye go, mate!

Thx Gen! Now i´ve just gotta figure out, how does that re-installing thingy work
Do i have to go into the command prompt and write "format c" in it, or do i have to do something with BIOS?

Installing the OS?
Well, ... you need to use the installation CD of WinXP. Reboot your PC, go into the BIOS settings and tell the rig to boot from the CD drive first instead of the HDD.
After that´s done reboot again and let your machine start up from the WinXP CD. Follow the steps to format the C: drive first. The next step would be to install the WinXP Os right on this partition ...
BTW! Have you already done a backup of your most important files? If you use just one HDD I´d recommend to backup all really important data on e.g. a DVD-ROM.
I hope this helps, Juha!
Cya tommorow after a long installation orgy!

OK, and i understand i have to press F8, while rebooting my comp in order to get to the BIOS, right?
Hmmm... Sounds easy enough... Then i just install SP2 and all the updates? I just hope i can find that installation-cd from somewhere..
Yeah, i have two 80gigs and one 160gig hard drive, so that wont be a problem.. Maybe i should make a backup of the entire skins folder on ubisoft directory...
I doubt if i can find the energy to do it tonight.... Maybe next weekend, with lots of time, and lots of beer

Thanks for the tip, i never would have thought of that I found "users"-folder, but where can i find that "conf.ini"?Whatever you do BACKUPyour conf.iniand USER folder
Also, i have two "ubisoft" folders in my program files.. The other one seems to have PF-files, and the other one has IL-2FB files... So which users and conf.ini files should i save?

the main Config.ini should be in the games root folder. open in notepad and save as config.txt or config.bak ( the original file will remain as config. ini ,to restore open the .bak version and save as - config.ini )
I used my standalone PF config to resolve some issues after doing a merged FB/AEP/PF install and patches to 4.04m.
the user folder contains your pilot profiles so you can simply copy paste any folders you are using profiles for in-game (aherm cough ....Sim)
all your favourite key assigns will be there.
in conf.ini your joystick responses will be here.......

you can copy /paste these in place using Notepad if all else is ok in the new install/patch etc
finally if youre doing standalone use the corresponding FB or PF versions and as I have found PF works fine in merged.
Another tip I picked up on route was to set the conf file to READ ONLY if you get problems after running once , though that may have to be re-set to play on a different server. ( if so keep backups of each)
Any doubts go here conf.ini Guideconf.ini Guide
