From the top
Close Combat 1 - The Original - by Microsoft
Close Combat 2 - A Bridge Too Far - by Microsoft - 7th RTS of all the time by Gamespot
Close Combat 3 - The Russian Front - by Microsoft
Close Combat 4 - Battle Of the bulge - by SSI
Close Combat 5 - Invasion Normand - by SSI
Close Combat I opened a new era for WW2 RTS - realistic, impressive, immersive.
CC2 was even more immersive, better, amazing, CC3 as well.
CC4 and CC5 were designed by SSI and they are great, but IMHO a bit worse then Microsoft's original Trilogy.
I've just installed the games and am enjoying CC2, one of the best games ever.
Much, much better then Rome TW

I found a website from which you can download Close Combat 2 for free, all legitimate and stuff...
http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/index.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The download link is on the right-hand side of the page in the 'CC2 Quick Start' box.
I downloaded it the other day on my laptop and installed a Microsoft Virtual CD Drive thing to mount the .iso image but it didn't work so I'm in the process of burning a copy onto CD. Feckin' CD burner is acting up now too though!

When I was 6 or 7, our close combat was flingin rocks at the dinosaurs.

Well of course when the weather was good I was outside pretending to shoot people and blow things up!But Close Combat was good for those rainy days when the soldiers mum wouldn't let him go to war in case he got a cold
