How do you host?
Start from the beginning and use small words!

-Best to use Hyperlobby, so players don't need your IP address in order to join the game.
-Look for the tab with the appropriate rooms listed.
For instance, in the 'GENERAL ROOMS' tab you could choose to use one of the 'dogfight rooms' or there is also one 'co-op' room you could use for cooperative and online-campaign missions. If you don't know the difference between the dogfight and co-op game-types, post back to have them explained.
There is also a 'CO-OPERATIVE' tab containing three more co-op rooms. Lastly ,you might want to select a room from the 'TEAMPLAY' tab if you are hosting a match against another squad.
-Choose the top 'slot' in the appropriate room.
-In the pop-up which appears, choose the settings you intend to use, such as:
short description of the server.
maximum players allowed at any one time.
leave the port set at 21000.
configure the difficulty settings by checking / unchecking the boxes.
check the password box if you are going to password the server
-Click the 'save info' button. The pop-up closes. At this point people can click on the 'info' button for that room and look at the description and settings. Bear in mind that this information just reflects the settings that you INTEND to use. Once you start FB/PF, you will have to configure the settings actually in the game.
-Wait for players to join the 'slots' if you are hosting a co-op or campaign. Players who are not initially in the slots when you start FB/PF can still join if they know your IP and you haven't pressed 'fly' yet in the game. After that they cannot join.
If hosting a Dogfight, players can join the game at any time, and so do not need to be in the slots when you start FB/PF.
-Next to the name of the room you're in (at the top, near your name) there should by now be a blue button. On mouse over it will state 'click here for game launch'. Click it to re-open the pop-up tab.
-Click the 'start the game' button (top right).
-Hyperlobby will eventually minimize and FB/PF will start.
-You will see the 'create new server' screen in FB/PF. You have a couple of server parameters to set in here.
-After clicking 'create', it is just a matter of selecting a mission/map to load, and setting the difficulty parameters. Try to accurately reflect the information you stated in the hyperlobby room; it is annoying to read in hyperlobby that the server has cockpit only, only to discover it has cockpit turned off in the actual server. Hyperlobby USED TO pass on the set-up information to FB, but that feature has been broken for a long time now.
-After selecting the map and difficulty, simply click 'load'.
You may find players receive errors when trying to join and cannot connect to you. This is probably a firewall/router problem. If you have this difficulty post back to get help configuring your router.
Hope this helps.
