Post-4.09 patches, A.D.
Gents- Putting up this topic so we can co-ordinate some kind of technical timeline/schedule in regard to the post-4.09 batch of patches that everyone is (eventually) to be involved in. Listening on TS this last Sunday, hearing Mike talk about the needed patches, reminded me of some version of an esp...

Widescreen settings w/ Windows 7
Gents. I reinstalled IL2 4.07, brought it up to 4.09, vanilla, and with Windows 7, I've lost about two inches (that's what the Missus says) on either side of my widescreen. Yeah, I did the config. file conversion to 1920/1200, but to no avail. Two questions: 1. User account control settings- I tried...

RISE of (cost) FLIGHT!
Gents- The minimum requirement for this gameplay is a little staggggering....I barely make the lowbar, but have bought another 4G of memory ( two sticks of two) for the relatively cheap amount of fifty bucks. (that's 2.21 Farthing, one Euro). I also received a strange e-mail from GoGamer telling me ...

New Hitler Bio
Gents- I just began reading "Hitler" a biography written by British historian Ian Kershaw. The book is rather biblical; coming in at over 1,000 pages, but is probably the most accurate book to date, with new primary resource material. Heck, even the Germermans gave it high praise. There's ...

Looks lovely, Macje!
Took a break from IL-2.
Missing the funny accents, though.
Playing 'S.T.A.L.K.E.R.' right now.
No elves, but plenty-o pointy-eared thingies...

Book Review: "Flights of Passage"
Gents- This is the autobiography written by WW2 pilot Samuel Hynes; a kid from Minnesota who would go on to become a veteran Avenger pilot at Iwo Jima, among other battles. It's a rather candid, honest retrospection. (Penguin Books, 1988) I would even mail it to any m8 who is interested if they PM m...
